MAG-XTENDER makes it possible to expand the capacity of your Howa 1500 / Weatherby Vanguard short action internal mag without breaking the bank.

Until now there has been only one option for adding round count to your Howa 1500 which is, add a removable magazine system. This upgrade requires a new trigger guard assembly, expensive magazines, and possible inletting of your existing rifle's stock. Many manufactures build "bullet proof" upgrades that are much better than the OEM equipment however they tend to be too costly for some shooters.

Now there is a second option, MAG-XTENDER. The MAG-XTENDER is an easy to install cost effective method of achieving additional capacity for a Howa 1500 / Weatherby Vanguard short action.

When installed the MAG-XTENDER extends the standard 4 round capacity to 7 rounds of .308 and 9 rounds of .223.

Built of high quality 60% glass reinforced nylon for a durable light weight solution.

I was very happy to find this part. I was going to order a high end ten round mag / trigger gaurd for 200$ so this saved me a bunch of money.

Advantages: Light weight, inexpensive, adds capacity and seems very sturdy. Easy to install with a hammer and a punch.

Disadvantages: I had to trim some mold flashing but no big deal. No real disadvantage for what I use the gun for.

Holds 7 .308 rounds in my Howa GRS, but "OEM spring will still have plenty of force" might be a tad overstated. The last round nose dived until I slightly bent the spring, not sure if it will bend back with a full mag later...and it just barely pushes the follower up hard enough to feed that last round.

Advantages: Inexpensive and simple way to add capacity. New bottom metal solutions are actually plastic and very $$$$.

Disadvantages: Spring needs some extra assistance to truly make it a 7+1 solution for .308

This customer purchased the item at our site.
Not a bad product, but it would be best served with an extended or stiffer magazine spring. I can load 8 rounds but the last one wont feed and 7 rounds leaves minimum spring tension to get positive feeding.

Advantages: Cheap magazine extension for my Howa.

Disadvantages: An extended spring or firmer spring to go along with the kit would make for more positive feeding and extend one more round.
