Howa Tactical Bolt Knob

Functions and is a quicker and less expensive option than cutting and threading for a knob.

Advantages: Bigger and better grip than factory bolt knob.

Disadvantages: Doesn't close all the way together. Leaves a 2mm seam gap through out. Threads in to plastic so don't over tighten to try and close the gap.

Comfortable once on. Came with 2 small orings that were supposed to help hold onto the original bolt knob, but they ended up causing a sizable gap between the two halves. Like some others on here, I used some thin sheets of paper inside of the knob instead of the orings and it’s sitting nice and snug with no gap now.

This neat little device turns the Howa 1500 bolt into a tactical bolt with no alterations and only takes minutes to install.

Advantages: Gives you a tactical bolt without affecting the original configuration of the rifle.

Outstanding bolt knob. I can now cycle the bolt of my Howa 1500 7mm Rem Mag with no problems while wearing gloves. My hand clears my large 34mm scope tube. Huge difference with this knob.

Knob was easy to install, fit snugly on my Howa 1500 mini in 6.5 Grendel. Easily clears the bell on my Vortex 3-9 x 40mm scope, but makes for a modified technique to work the bolt vs. no scope.

Advantages: Much more ergonomic to use than just the weird factory knob, feels better in the hand, fits with my scope.

Disadvantages: Howa Mini's bolt throw does make it end up close to scope tube on my 3-9 x 40 Vortex, very large scopes might not work.

Very good product. Easy to install, makes it easier to manipulate the bolt. For the price hard to beat. Like it so much I put it on 5 howa's and given several out to friends that have howa's.

I bought two of this bolt on knob: one for weatherby vanguard S2 and the other for Howa 1500 Legacy Sport superlite. Both of them are made by Howa and are almost identical in most aspects. Bolt on knobs from Tactical Works fit fine and I got what I wanted. One thing is that the rubber rings to be used (included) were too thick. If I use two of them it will have huge opening between knob parts. One was still too thick. What I did was to use rubber shavings and stick them in: shavings gave enough pressure to keep knobs rolling, good pressure to retain halves in place. Do I recommend this knobs? Yes.

Advantages: It’s somewhat hard to find bolt on knobs for Howa/weatherby somehow.. this is the best I came across.

Disadvantages: Little mods needed as I wrote in my comment. Mod didn’t involve any metal working, just shaving rubber and finding good amount to be sandwiched.

I will say I wasn't able to use the o-rings because it would leave a gap, so I put a few drops of red loctite on the bolt knob then installed this bolt knob using blue loctite on the threads. Doesn't move at all, holds tight, very happy!

Fit perfect on not only the Howa mini but also the CZ 527. I will buy a coulpe more.

Fit my Howa Mini bolt very well, easy install, used one of the included o-rings, bolted on tightly. Good Product at a good price.

Shipped quickly and price was good. The bolt knob itself is the perfect size. Adds about .75 inch of length to the bolt and a slight texture and increased diameter. Install was straight forward, use the o rings to lock it in. Mine fits rock solid on a howa mini 1500 bolt.

Worked great. I had to do a little smithing to the angle of the bolt handle but it is well made and looks great.

Took a little figuring out,but I got some tech support and got it installed...feels like a different gun..Very nice accessory.

I purchased this for a CZ 527, not a Howa. Just took a chance it was going to be adaptable, and it was. My CZ 527 has the older forged bolt handle, not the later MIM type, so the knob diameter is about .700", not the latest .750". This add on knob actually fits well although the CZ shank is rectangular instead of round. I left out the o-rings, and added a bit of dark hardening filler to fill in the gaps between the rectangular handle shank and knob hole so I cannot see any gaps. This handle has the correct feel and look for my rifle.

the easiest way to fasten this knob so it does not spin around is to add a few layers of teflon plumbing joint tape to the bolt knob then fasten the 2 halves together. you get a good snug seal and easy removal if the knob is removed

Fits Weatherby Vangaurd series 1 & 2 as well - nice addition.
