Memorial Day 2012

To all of those who have served, Tactical Works salutes you!

“I have never been able to think of the day as one of mourning; I have never quite been able to feel that half-masted flags were appropriate on Decoration Day.  I have rather felt that the flag should be at the peak, because those whose dying we commemorate rejoiced in seeing it where their valor placed it.  We honor them in a joyous, thankful, triumphant commemoration of what they did.”  ~Benjamin Harrison

With a new Memorial Day weekend upon us, most of us look forward to spending time with family and friends and having an extra day off. Every Memorial Day we debate sending out an email blast with discounts and promotions to honor the ones who have served however, it never seems like the right thing to do.

We feel the right thing to do is simply send our sincere thanks and gratitude to all who have served our country. Please take a few minutes and realize where you are and what you have. Take a deep breath, take it all in, and embrace how lucky we are to live free. Use the following moments to recognize that without the sacrifice of the men and women in our Armed Forces, we wouldn’t be where we are today, free.

Thank you for your service.

I take this moment in advance to salute the men and women who have answered the call to protect and defend the freedom that this great nation is known for. Their individual and cummulative sacrifices have made this nation a beacon for the free world to follow. I likewise give thanks and salute the family members who sacrificed and underwent great hardship when their love ones were deployed. Thank you to those who served this nation and to their family. You know who you are, walk tall and proud.
