The Ultimate Retention Device (URD) by Section8tactical is an injection molded rubber '8' with 2 molded holes. The rubber gives the product "predictable flexibility". One hole houses the interchangeable plastic finger sizing insert (3 sizes are included). The plastic insert allows proper sizing for the finger as well as providing a slippery surface for the product to rotate on the finger. The second hole is for holding the flashlight body. This is a tight friction fit between the rubber molding and the flashlight body.
Once in place, the flashlight is secured on the index finger and tactical transitions from hand over hand, search, index finger-middle finger-fat of thumb operations of the light are possible. Tactical transition times are greatly shortened with the added safety benefit of maintaining flashlight retention.
