Forend adapter - enables 870 12ga shotgun forends to fit the following rifles:

  • 760 (late variation only)
  • 7600
  • 7615
  • Sportsman 76
  • Six (pump)

A high-quality CNC-machined adapter kit that allows any 12ga 870 shotgun forend within factory specifications to fit onto the Remington pump-action centerfire rifle models listed above. Later production model 760s are also 100% compatible with this kit; however, the earlier models are not. Please see our notes below. Forends for the 7600 and 7615 are limited in choice to a handful of factory versions in either timber or plastic. Aftermarket forends do exist, however, these are few and far between and overpriced for what they offer. Forends for the Remington 870 include:

  • Pistol grip forends
  • Forends with integrated torches/flashlights
  • Riot / LE ribbed timber and corncob
  • Forends with full-length picatinny rails
  • High-grade factory walnut and maple options

Construction

The Lumley adapter kit consists of a CNC-machined 6061-T6 sleeve, which has been Mil-Spec type III anodized for durability, that slides over the existing rifle slide assembly and is retained by a replacement 304 grade stainless steel bolt. The 870 forend is held in place by a 4140 blued steel forend nut which matches the thread of the 870's tube. Unlike the 870, which has a tubular magazine, this forend nut is closed off and fastened using an M6 hex key.

Do you have the earlier variation Remington 760?

Later variation Remington 760 rifles are 100% compatible with this forend adapter. These rifles have a free-floated forend assembly like the Remington 7600. The earlier variation 760s with the shotgun type forend assembly are not compatible with this adapter. The Cottage Craft Works website shows the differences between the later variation model on the right (#2) compated ot the earlier variation on the left (#1) - on this link here. Contact us for more details if you are unsure so we can identify the vintage of your rifle.

Are you looking to replace your stock also?

The following Remington models share the same narrow frame receiver and stock interface. For this reason, stocks are interchangeable (stock bolt lengths can vary). Bear in mind that the shotgun models listed below typically have combs that drop which are not ideal for use with optics but are useful for iron sights.

Fitting guide

  • An M6 and M4 hex keys are required for installation (not included)
  • This sleeve is designed to fit 870 forends which closely follow the length of the factory original forends
  • Forends longer than the original can still be fitted, however will require varying degrees of modification
  • Larger barrel diameters may bind up on the forend - particularly when the action is open. This can usually be remedied by removing material from the forend
