Savage Improved Extractor Ejector Kit

The savage improved ejector and extraction kit turned out to be a fairly easy install, it works perfectly. It was a tremendous improvement for my firearm.

Advantages: I no longer have to struggle picking cases out of the receiver.

Disadvantages: None, it works perfectly it is well worth the price.

Installed on a new 110 Ultralight short action.
Seems to improve ejection slightly.
Most likely has been designed to improve older models.

I bought the kit because I was having trouble with my rifle not extracting about half of time. The install was easy and straightforward but the new parts were terrible. The extractor did not work at all. Maybe one in twenty would extract. All others would be left in the action. The ejector bent and got stuck in the hole. It took a hour to fish the bent ejector out. For me it was a waste of $30 and the time. Not to mention a wasted trip to the range.

Advantages: None for me

Disadvantages: Very cheap parts. Flimsy springs and ejector. Not even close to original savage parts.

Would not purchase. I purchased this for my savage axis rifle that was only extracting about half of the rounds I shot. The install was simple but the new extractor would not extract any of the rounds I shot. The ejector was good for about 100 rounds and then it got stuck down in the hole. After removing the keeper pin I had to pull out the ejector with pliers and found it was bent. So as far as I can tell I these are very cheap parts. Go with original at least they work half the time for half the money.

i got the parts to fix the extractor for my Savage Axis installed into the bolt as soon as they arrived. Unfortunately the made my problem worse. The shells won't even leave the bolt. The person I talked to said they have seen problems with Savage bolt tolerances, and the would send new parts as soon as they were ready. We will see. Still waiting

Great customer service. Lisa is awesome, helping to address a part with dimensional problems.

Advantages: Kit seemed to be of good quality and simple to install with instructions. Again, customer service went out of her way to try and resolve problem. Highly recommended.

Disadvantages: Ejector retention slot milled too large, replacement sent, still specs were off. Manufacturer is reportedly adjusting dimensions. Waiting on replacement.

Did not solve the fail to eject problem and added another problem. Original problem: the shell would pull 3/4 back on extraction then fall off the bolt face without being ejected out the port. The new problem: the ejector extends beyond the bolt face and catches the round upon loading causing a failure to load. I ended up using the new extractor and new stronger spring with the original ejector...and still have the original problem of failure to eject.

Advantages: Shiney new parts... yeah, whatever.

Disadvantages: Doesn't solve the problem.

Great kit Parts are good quality. and easy to use.

Purchased two Savage ejector kits. Neither improved extraction from my rifles BUT customer service (via email) was perfect in that TWI guided me through several attempts to resolve the problem. When the attempts failed TWI quickly sent a shipping label to return the kits and refunded my $. I would buy from them again.

I bought this extractor kit for my savage 6.5 creedmoor Stealth. The bolt would not fully extract Nosler brass. After installing the kit the bolt would extract and eject perfectly.

Advantages: Makes extraction and ejection more positive and consistent.

Disadvantages: I haven’t found any disadvantages at all.

The Savage enhanced extraction/ejector kits worked perfectly.

Disadvantages: None.

This extractor kit badass. Easy install on my Savage High Country .308. I was messing around with some cheap steel case and the factory extractor was having issues latching to the shell. Put this bad boy and quit using steel case. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase.

this kit is the perfect fix for the issues seen in savage extractors. it resulted in a better outcome and was less expense than sending the rifle back to the factory

Advantages: easy to install. affordable. good service

Disadvantages: i wish it was not necessary. Reading the message board, this must be a known issue to Savage.

My axis 308 failed to extract about 20% of the time and when it did work the cases dropped out the side with no force. Installed this kit in about 10 minutes and have cycled empty brass and loaded rounds hundreds of times without failure. By design it will be harder to close the bolt because of the longer extractor has to be shoved over the case but I can live with that.

Advantages: It works. Extracts nice and tosses spent cases plenty far.

Disadvantages: Will make it harder to close the bolt and no break in period will make it better its just the trade off of having a working rifle.

Installed the ejector spring. Didn’t help much

My Savage 12-FV functions fantastic now. It throws the casings consistently, and has been flawless.

Advantages: This extractor kit is well built, and took about 15 minutes to install.

Fantastic customer service and fast shipping. The part is exactly what I was looking for .

Advantages: Helps with chambering and extraction. The savage 110 Elite Precision in 6.5 creedmoor is sloppy out of the box with chambering and extraction with handloads and factory match ammo. This aftermarket kit helps with these issues quite a bit.

Disadvantages: A little tricky to install yourself if you have shaky hands like I do but if you take your time and follow the directions tactical works sends in a detailed email it can be done.

If you are having extraction or ejection issues this could be your fix.

Advantages: Was having extraction and ejection issues with my savage scout. Installed the extractor and ball only. Fixed 100%. The factory extractor lacked the proper length to hold the shell in the bolt face until ejection was complete.

Disadvantages: None. Simple easy affordable fix for a sometimes problem.

Solve my savage ejection problems completely. Took 10 minutes to install after watching the video. Great product.

Worked exactly as promised and easy to install

Advantages: No longer had to remove the spent cartridge by hand. 100% satisfied.

Disadvantages: If you shoot enough roundsw it looks like you are shooting an AR as the rounds get flung all around you.
