I like the stock the first time I saw it. I call tactical work and spoke to Lisa about the stock. Very nice lady, owesome customer service. She describe the stock to me and told me the stock was plastic. I was like “mmm I don’t know “ but I ordered it. When I received the stock I was like “WOW” Way beyond my expectations, well made stock by Choate.

excellent product, makes the bolt manipulation easier and more natural. Tactical Works Inc. notified me when the handle was in stock and sent email instructions in case of a problem great customer service.

Advantages: easy bolt manipulation, able to stay on target while bolt is cycled, well made.

Disadvantages: Price that's why four stars, but the demand is extreme.

Purchased for my pre-accutrigger Savage 10FP in .308. I'm very happy with it after having it out a couple of times. The extra weight and wide features make it extremely stable on the bench or prone. I expect to get many, many years of use out of this stock.

Advantages: Perfect fit. Very stable. Right price. I like the swivel studs on both sides for a sling; it makes carrying this beast more manageable.

Disadvantages: Not the most refined finish; some of the seams are a little rough. It is NOT going to win any beauty contests. The barrel channel is really wide. The barrel definitely free-floats with a lot of room to spare even with the bull barrel. Again, not a functional problem, more cosmetic.

The titanium/carbon fiber bolt handle looks great on my rifle and is significantly lighter than the factory unit. The ergonomics of the swept back design are nice and should make cycling the action for follow up shots easier with gloves on. My only complaint about it is that the machine left one of the edges that mate to the action a little rounded resulting in a slight amount of play between the handle and the action. It's still firmly in place but it's not rock solid.

Advantages: looks great, provides a better grip with gloves on, it's light

Disadvantages: The machine work wasn't quite as good as I had expected.

works great, looks good, fast shipping and not too high priced, Love them, I've got a few of them on my rifles.

Advantages: Look good and work even better.

Disadvantages: It would be nice if they gave them away but wouldn't last very long.

As always Tactical Works quickly processed and shipped order. I love buying from these guys.

Advantages: Solid, and heavy will be perfect for bench shooting. I got the standard cheek riser, looks like sight alignment will be just right.

Disadvantages: Replacing a stock you expect some trimming for fit, and the Choate was no exception. I had to Dremel for the trigger guard and the bolt release lever. I was disappointed with the fit of the blind mag, very loose. I folder up some cardboard to move the mag rearward so it and the L bracket would stay in place for assembly. This shouldn't be an issue, I single load and only use the mag as a sled.

I bought one of these for a Savage 112 long action in 7mm Rem Mag. Good fit. I cut the excess off the front to clear my optic and used aluma-black to blacken the raw aluminum. I also bedded the rear flat back as there was a .02 gap.

Advantages: Lightweight if you want that. Affordable.

Disadvantages: Not as rigid as steel.

This saddle blanket fits the Gen 1 and 2 perfectly as depicted in the web site photos.
I have both Gen 2 and 3 PRS stocks and the cheek rest on the Gen 3 is a different size than the 1 and 2 cheek rests. It fits OK on the Gen 3 but you can see the saddle was designed solely for the gen 1 and 2 cheek rests. I installed the saddle by cutting a 1 inch wide strip of backing with a pair of scissors from the center of the saddle then lined up the center hash cut outs on the blanket to line up on the center of the cheek rest. After I affixed the blanket to the top of the cheek rest I could lift up the sides of the blanket, remove the backing and affix it to the rest. I taped it down overnight to make sure it stuck good. These blankets look really nice on the PRS stocks. The Gen 3 is going to require a different cut to fit properly. Wish I could attach a photo to show the difference between Generations and fitment.

Advantages: There are two saddles included which is a pretty fair deal given the price point and the fact they are custom made for the PRS Magpul stock

Disadvantages: Not an exact fit on the Gen 3 PRS cheek rest.

Phillip C about  Howa SA Tactical Stock by Choate :
Jun 12, 2018
Nice quality stock with the best price around. Also got it with free shipping during a sale which is awesome. Tactical Works was really helpful and let me pay with 3 different cards since I had two rebate rewards cards. I did a recoil lug and tang bedding using Marine Tex since there was a little room forward to back, which is normal. Overall an excellent stock and value when compared to some of the others out there and I would definitely buy again. If you're building a bench gun and want the features that count without selling a kidney, this is the way to go. Best bang for your buck on Howa 1500, hands down.

Advantages: Fully aluminum bedding block and plenty of space to free float my heavy barrel Howa 1500 308. Nice and solid construction. The heavy weight in this case is good since it's a bench gun.

Disadvantages: The sling swivel studs sat in the stock loose so they were easy to spin, but so loose that they rattled and made noise. I unscrewed them, and added an A011 o-ring (5/16"x7/16"x1/16") between the aluminum and the stud and that fixed it.

Stock is much heavier than the original one. As the rifle is a .30-06, and it used to kick the crap out of my shoulder, I am hoping that this stock will help with the recoil.

Advantages: Weight, versatility with the rail underneath the forearm, length of pull adjustment.

Disadvantages: Weight. Don't plan on carrying this through the woods hunting.

This stock is perfect for bench shooting. Heavy and rigid with aluminum chassis.

Well made Tactical bolt handle. Order was shipped the same day, you don't get that from the big names. Thank you.

Advantages: Added leverage, combined with the bolt lift kit from Nathanial Lambeth, substantially reduced the effort to lift the bolt on my Savage 12FV.

Disadvantages: None

Had been looking for a LH Cheek Pad/Riser for quite some time in a color other than black. Had all but given up on finding one and then just happened to stumble across this one here. Fit my Stockade Woodchuck stock perfectly, and with a 3/8" thick piece of foam under it on the comb I finally have perfect eye alignment with my scope.

Advantages: Easy to install and adjust
Left-hand available in several different colors

Disadvantages: None

Last year I put a Choate Tactical stock on my Savage 110F in .308 which immediately tightened groups. I hit a 2.5" 5-shot group in at 715 yards. So when I got a Remington 700 SPS in .223, getting another Choate was a no-brainer. I'm hitting .5 MOA or better at 100 yards consistently. The build on these stocks cuts no corners. Aluminum pillar beds with FULL aluminum rails from action to the end of the forend. All one piece. They also have an excellent palm-swell and handle angle allowing for a good trigger-pull. These stocks are not for hunting as they are heavy, but as a person who enjoys shooting from a bench, weight is no issue. I added stainless steel BB's to completely fill the butt end of the stock to add even more mass. The .223's feel like .22's and the .308's feel like .223's. I've never had a McMillan, but for less than $200 it's hard to go wrong.

Advantages: Stiffness, huge barrel float, palm-swell, heavy weight, fit and finish. Precision-oriented stock.

Disadvantages: Not for a hunting rig.

The spring I received was not the same dimensions as the one previously in bolt. It was way to long and very skinny. I left the old spring in to be able to get detent ball and extractor in place.

Disadvantages: Not sure if extractor ejects spent case as far from gun as expected because of said spring.

I really like the new Bravo chassis from KRG. It is very adaptable for most anyone. It is very good value for your dollar. I am extremely happy with mine, and ope to purchase another one in the next few months. Thanks KRG for an inexpensive but very well performing chassis that is so user friendly.

Advantages: The comb height and length of pull are easily adjusted by the user. It is a lightweight and very stable platform. It works very well for most any kind of shooting position also.
