**This is a new product with first-generation prototypes currently being field tested (as of April 2023). Lumley expects to do a first production run sometime in late 2023. Click the Back-In-Stock notifications button to receive an email when the first production run is available. **
Designed for the shooter in pursuit of the lightest rifle absolutely possible. These bolt bodies are completely CNC machined from Grade 5 titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) and the finish is superb. They fit Savage Centerfire models based on the short action model 10 pattern. The initial release will be Right Hand Standard version. Future offerings may include fluted and left-hand options.
The weight difference between the Lumley titanium bolt bodies and the factory steel unit has to be handled to be appreciated. During testing the fluted prototype was 54% lighter than the Savage OEM steel bolt body ( a savings of 2.37oz / 67.2gm). When combined with a Lumley Titanium Bolt Handle and Titanium BAS (2019+ model) or Titanium Bolt Lift Kit (pre-2019 model), substantial savings in weight can be achieved. If unsure of compatibility with your particular model, please measure the length of your OEM bolt body and compare the dimensions to those in the last image of the gallery.

Some fitting may be required
We cannot accept returns for bolt bodies that have been modified or show signs of fitting. With so many models and sub-models of different vintages, we have found that the dimensions between individual Savage rifles can vary. The Lumley Savage Bolt Bodies are available in two different diameters below:
- 0.695" (17.65mm) - this is ideal for the majority of factory model receivers that Lumley has measured
- 0.700" (17.78mm) - in many cases this will be marginally larger than the ID of most receivers, ideal for a no wiggle, no slop fit however gunsmith fitting may be required.
We highly recommend measuring the raceway of your receiver using a pin gauge prior to purchasing the Lumley bolt body. This is a low-cost method of determining the ID of your receiver. MSC has these available online from $24.20 including both 0.700" and 0.695". You will need at least 0.002" clearance between the bolt body and the receiver ID. If in doubt, selecting the smaller 0.695" bolt body is a safe option. If selecting eh larger 0.700" bolt body, your receiver may need to be opened up or the bolt body will need to be turned down, both operations require a lathe.
