Tactical Works, Inc. announces new dealer relationship with Mission First Tactical, MFT of Bensalem, PA.

DENVER, CO – Tactical Works, Inc. announced that they are now a stocking dealer for Mission First Tactical or MFT. A representative of Team Tactical Works stated that they decided to offer MFT products primarily to complement the Tac21 Chassis System. “Many operators want a folding or collapsible stock for their long range weapons platform to help with concealbility and maneuverability. MFT’s BATTLELINK Utility Stock or BUS, is a solid stock and one of the few adjustable AR15 stocks that has an adjustable cheek piece. After visiting with MFT at ShotShow 2013, we decided that we would offer most of their products to our AR15 community and as an option for the chassis systems that we offer. The decision made sense because MFT offers a “bulletproof” solution and they are made in the USA.”

Tactical Works offers MFT’s stocks, cheek pieces, and grips for the AR platform. These accessories are also a great complement the Tac21 chassis system.
This build had a few requirements that needed to be met. The most challenging was bring the project in under budget which was pretty tight.
The need was for an all around maneuverable entry-level training carbine that would adapt nicely to a tall shooter while remaining light weight and fairly accurate inside of 300 yards.
Once funds are available, this carbine will dawn an optic/red dot, railed hand guard, one point sling, and a weapon light.
Immediately thoughts turned to an A2 stock to satisfy LOP and the budget however, a collapsible stock was on the “nice to have” list. The Ergo F93 Pro Stock adjusts from 8″ to 12″ when fully extended helping to add 1 & 1/2″ LOP over the A2 fixed stock helping to accommodate a tall shooter and at the same time addressing the “nice to have” collapsible stock.
A Lightweight DPMS 16″ barrel with a 1:9 twist helps keep the overall weight down and will stabilize 55 grain bullets for training as well as heavier bullets for longer work. The upper components, bolt, carrier, receiver, etc. were also DPMS.
A Mckay Enterprises “No Logo” lower receiver was chosen because of the sleek look and competitive price. To aid in training in the Colorado cold weather a Magpul Enhanced Trigger guard was installed.
To complete the rifle a Magpul rear sight added and 2 Magpul 30 round magazines.
Overall, the build went very smooth. The first range visit for testing and barrel break-in provided successful results. At 50 yards with no zero all shots sent down range (10) hit the intended target, a paper plate. When time is available, we will zero the sights and test from 50 yds. to 200 yds. We expect to experience tighter more consistent groupings.

Installing the Magpul MOE/Enhanced Trigger Guard
Flat hinged trigger guards are standard equipment with most AR15s and AR Lower Parts Kits (LPK) and leave a little to be desired. The annoying gap between the standard trigger guard and the grip can tend to get uncomfortable during long shooting sessions and needs to be “folded” open to accommodate larger cold weather gloves.
Many of the shooters we talk with have the same passion as we do. We love to shoot and we tend to have more than a few platforms to choose from when we exercise this passion.
Many sportsmen are now including the ominous “Black Rifle” as a useful tool their shooting/hunting “tool belt”. One of the great features of the AR15 is its modularity. The AR15 platform allows the shooter and hunter alike to “design build” the rifle that best suites their needs for the conditions and targets that may cross their sites. In addition, the ability to simply add and remove accessories helps mitigate the need for several rifles for differing conditions. With the AR15 it is very possible to punch paper during the day, swap the scope for night vision and go hog hunting that night.
In reality, a single AR15 receiver could be the platform for an unlimited number of rifle configurations. Tactical CQC, Varmint, Urban Sniper, Service Rifle, and on and on.
We are going to start a series of 3 “Black Rifle Builds” to include a long-range paper/varmint puncher, coyote/predator, and a basic minimum budget service rifle.
The first of our three builds will be the minimum budget service rifle. We’ll then move onto the Long Range Varmint Rifle. Third, we intentionally didn’t say last because we all know how addicting building ARs’ is and we’re pretty sure this will not be our last, a dedicated predator hunter.
