MAG-EXTENDER

5/32 Hex Key, 3/32 Punch, & a small hammer/mallet.

This page will help you understand how to install the MAG-Extender on a Remington 700. Our subject is a Remington 700 .308 PSS.

As always, MAKE SURE YOUR RIFLE IS UNLOADED!! We always suggest keeping your project and the ammo for your project in seperate rooms. As you’ll see for demonstrations purposes our project (rifle) and our ammo happens to be in the same room however, we always streess safty when working on firearms.

Start by using a Hex Key to remove the two screws from the trigger guard assembly/bottom metal.

Once the trigger assembly is removed from the stock take a punch and drive out the 3/32 hing pin and remove the OEM Floorplate from the trigger assembly.

Once the OEM floor plate is separated from the trigger assembly remove the OEM magazine spring and follower from the floorplate. To remove the spring from the floorplate, slide the spring out to the rear, away from where the hing pin installs in the floorplate.

Now take the MAG-XTENDER and slide the OEM magizine spring underneath the retainer plate. Push the spring forward until it stops.

Place the MAG-XTENDER in the trigger guard, line up the hing pin hole and drive the 3/32 hing pin into the trigger guard to secure the MAG-EXTENDER.

** For .223 installations place the included cartrige stop with dull side forward that the wide side down. Short action .223 only**

Now reinstall the trigger guard assembly back on the rifle with the trigger guard assembly screws.

The OEM spring will still have plenty of force to function properly. The MAG-XTENDER increased the capacity on our .308 to 7+1. The .223 MAG-XTENDER will increase the capacity to 9+1.
